Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how PomoSense ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Information We Collect
PomoSense is designed with privacy in mind. We do NOT collect any personal identification information.
Local Data Storage
The following data is stored locally on your device only:
- Focus session statistics (duration, completion status)
- User preferences and settings
- Timer configurations (work time, break time, etc.)
- App Lock preferences (which apps you choose to block)
All local data is stored on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms and is never transmitted to our servers.
Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app and improve user experience. This includes:
- App usage patterns (screens viewed, features used)
- Session duration and frequency
- Device type and OS version
- App crashes and performance data
Important: This analytics data is anonymized and does NOT include any personal identification information such as name, email, or phone number.
What We Don't Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Contacts or calendar information
- Browsing history or web activity
- Any data that can personally identify you
Subscription Information
If you choose to purchase a Premium subscription, your payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information.
Apple may collect:
- Payment information (credit card, billing address)
- Purchase history
- Account details

App Lock Feature (Premium)
PomoSense includes an App Lock feature that uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework) to help you stay focused by blocking selected apps during work sessions.
Important Privacy Notes:
- No data collection: We do not collect or access any information about which apps you choose to block
- Local storage only: Your app blocking preferences are stored locally on your device
- Apple's framework: The Screen Time API operates entirely on your device
- No transmission: We cannot see or access your Screen Time data
- User control: You can revoke Family Controls authorization at any time in iOS Settings
Data Security
All your data remains on your device and is protected by iOS's built-in security features, including:
- Encrypted local storage: Your data is encrypted at rest
- iOS sandboxing: App data is isolated from other apps
- Secure keychain storage: Sensitive information uses iOS Keychain
- iCloud Backup: Your data is automatically backed up to iCloud if you have iCloud Backup enabled (encrypted and controlled by Apple)
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
1. StoreKit (Apple)
- Purpose: Processing in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Data Collected: Purchase information handled securely by Apple
- Privacy Policy: Apple Privacy Policy
2. Firebase Analytics (Google)
- Purpose: Understanding app usage and improving user experience
- Data Collected: Anonymized usage data (no personal identification)
- Privacy Policy: Firebase Privacy Policy
3. Screen Time API / Family Controls (Apple)
- Purpose: App Lock feature (Premium only)
- Functionality: Allows temporary restriction of app access during focus sessions
- Authorization: Requires Family Controls permission
- Data Collection: No data about blocked apps is collected or transmitted
- Storage: Settings are stored locally on your device only
We do NOT use:
- Advertising networks
- Third-party tracking for marketing purposes
- Data brokers or data selling services
- Social media tracking pixels
Your Rights
Since all personal data is stored locally on your device:
- Complete control: You have full control over your data
- Easy deletion: Delete all app data by uninstalling the app
- Reset statistics: Reset your statistics within the app settings
- No sharing: Your data is never shared with anyone
- Subscription management: Cancel or modify your subscription through your Apple ID account settings at any time
Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal data, the app is safe for users of all ages.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Advertising
PomoSense does not display any advertisements. We generate revenue solely through optional premium subscriptions.
